Summary
In its technical part, the project aims at the exploitation of extreme cavitation stream dynamics in the disintegration of solids/melts. It is a sequel to the construction of solid particle comminutor as attested jointly with PTV, Ltd. within the SMO technical grant. Moreover, it aspires to the construction of a mixed melt disintegrator in the rapid solidification regime with amorphous nanoparticle output. The outputs, shaped as
nanoparticulate substrate, will subsequently become the basis for the preparation of novel nanocomposites. The properties of all materials involved will further be studied by the team and internationally. The conception of the technical part is motivated by the intention to develop cutting-edge technologies for nanoparticulate substrates and their subsequent transformation into innovative materials out of the area of natural chemical miscibility in solid form. The scientific objective consists in a deeper enquiry into the
relationships between residual interactive surface potentials of nanoparticles, given the curvature, and the impact on nanocomposites formation, including resultant characteristics. Prospective yields comprise the construction of devices as described, conference papers, reviewed journal publications and patents.
