The educational model of a production line represents an advanced tool that effectively supports the acquisition of lean manufacturing and logistics principles within the Industry 4.0 environment and in the context of Logistics 4.0 principles. The core of this model is a physical production line connected to a virtual warehouse and a MES system for production planning and control. An economic system is also included for evaluating the selected technologies and production processes. All systems are interconnected via an SQL server, forming a comprehensive educational manufacturing system.
In addition to the physical line, students can also work with a digital twin, which allows them to simulate real production processes, perform analysis, and optimize workflows. This provides them with deeper knowledge and skills necessary for applying lean manufacturing principles and helps them better understand the differences between physical and virtual production lines and their significance in production planning.
